It is quite irksome to me to have a look at someone's web page or
LinkedIn profile and see a notification for an upcoming event, only to see that
the date has already passed. If you are making a presentation, use the
opportunity to do a wrap-up as a point of interest. Use the fact that something
is over and done with to emphasize what you can do for others now.
When I see that people let details like that slip through the cracks, I
wonder what else they might not think is important. In business, everything is
important. Every update on your website, every conversation you have and every
face-to-face meeting you take part in all reflect you.
There is a saying that you don't get a second chance to make a first
impression. I might also say that if you are outdated once, potential clients
might think that you will always be out-of-date. Don't let that
