However, Victoria was born into royalty and ascended to her position basically by luck of birth. She did not have to claw her way to the top of the heap. There were no networking groups, self-help books or words of advice from other women. She really was on her own. Her advisors were men, and not all of them had her best interests in mind.
Do you ever feel that way? That you are on your own with your business and have no resources? That the advice given may not be in your best interest? Take the time to take back control. You may have to dig deep and in obscure places to find the information you need but it is out there.
It is easy to get swamped by such huge amounts of information available. You can get sidetracked and think you need to know things that aren't actually germane to your business. Take a step back, revisit your goals, and make sure that you stay true to what you want to accomplish. I am not saying you have to keep all the same goals you had 10 years ago. Of course they should have changed. But try to keep your final destination in mind. The map may have changed, and you may have to change how you get there, but don't give up on your plans. After all, you are in it for the long-term. Queen Victoria persevered. You can too.
