I am the one that put myself on the schedule of posting on Mondays. Many people blog here and there and whenever they can. I believe that it is important to place demands on yourself. I treat myself as a client who has a deadline. That way, whether I am busy with client work or just catching up on the administration part of my business, I always have someone to answer to – me.
When I woke up with a jolt about 5:30 this morning, it was because I realized I hadn’t posted the article I had so carefully written. It was there, in the draft folder, ready to go. Press a couple of buttons and bingo boingo, published.
So why didn’t the posting happen yesterday? Well, I was juggling client work, volunteer work and life. I thought about my blog a couple of times, and the realization that it would only take a few minutes, but you know what happens. Or doesn’t. Those few minutes. My eyes lit on another piece of work and there went my plans.
I have decided not to beat myself up about this. People don’t email me saying “Karen, where was your blog? I was waiting for it all day!” It certainly rankles me, but I am realistic enough to realize that is about the extent of it.
Enjoy today’s blog and tune in next week, on Monday, for what should have been here yesterday. It will be yesterday’s news, but you will enjoy it just the same.
