When I set out two years ago to provide you, my readers, with a weekly blog, it was a leap of faith for me. Many bloggers post occasionally, some post for a while and then just give up, some post as I do, every week, and others post almost every day.
I wanted to have something to say to people, something relevant each week. I pretty well knew I couldn't post every day. As a business owner, I do all parts of the business and the blogging is one part of the whole business. If I had the time to blog every day, it would mean that something else wouldn't get done and I honestly couldn't see what I would sacrifice.
So here I am, two years later and still posting, with the VERY small exception, every Monday. Sometimes it is early in the morning, sometimes very late at night but I try my best to make sure that date stamp is the Monday.
Sounds a little obsessive, you might say. Well, I say that to myself too. People have said to me "why does it matter?" Well, it matters on a couple of fronts. First, I made that promise at the beginning and you need to start as you mean to go on. Second, when you build an audience, they have certain expectations and it is incumbent upon you to deliver on those. Third, the very fact that I follow through means that I follow through on other parts of the business as well.
So when is a blog not just a blog? When it is also all the things mentioned above. It is work, but I enjoy it and I hope you do too, because I plan on posting on Mondays for a very long time to come.
