You are your own best marketer and you can market all the time. Don’t discount the easy marketing, such as wearing a t-shirt with your company logo, using a water bottle with that same logo, or a backpack or briefcase. Now, it is easier than ever to create one-off promotional items that you can use yourself or hand out to a small group of people.
If you are a small company, you don’t have the money to buy 1,000 coffee mugs, nor should you. The perceived value of those is minimal, at best. Everybody has some corporate mugs in their cupboard. What you want is marketing on the move. That means the advertising that goes everywhere that you do. That is why it will be more effective, because there is no limit to your audience.
Just imagine, you are in one part of your city for a meeting, another part for a party after hours and another city altogether for a charity event for instance. If you choose your items carefully, they can go wherever you are and be always out in the open, not tucked away in a drawer somewhere.
Another form of portable marketing is the use of magnets that attach to the sides of cars. For around $50, you could be advertising your company every time you get in your car. Don’t have a car? That’s okay, spend the money to equip your friends’ vehicles. If you have a good looking ad, your friends might be quite willing to ride around with your company’s contact info on the door panels.
It’s okay to go for the easy marketing. As long as it is good looking and not cheap, your company will look good too. Marketing on the move — don’t stand still; get to work on it.
