I sat next to a gentleman on the plane that was ending up in Madrid as I was, through a connection in Paris. Turns out he moved to Canada from Syria over a decade ago. He was on his way to visit his brother and mother in Madrid. His mother was only recently able to leave Syria.
I thanked him for choosing Canada and he said it was the best country in the world.
The other person I sat next to on my outbound flight was on her way to Malaya to take part in a mountain bike tour. Interesting to me because of my other business Velofix. Velofix is a bike repair company that goes to your door, whether it be your school, office or home and tunes up your bike on the spot. As the saying goes, we liked the business so much we bought the company. Well part of it anyway.
Now this person doesn't live in our neck of the woods so she won't become our particular client, but she may very well become a client of one of the other franchises. That would be good for all of us.
Connection come in the oddest places and if you don't talk to strangers, like I do, you won"t make those connection.
Besides, it's just fun.
