First I am thankful that my great-grandmother who, when widowed at a relatively young age, packed up six children, including my grandmother, and brought them all to Canada from England. Without that pivotal event, nothing else would have unfolded the way it has.
This is not a history lesson, so let's skip forward a looong time. I am doing what I love, on pretty well my own terms. I would not say that I am my own boss, because every client that I work for becomes my boss in a sense. It is a great working relationship however, because I have had the opportunity to get to know interesting, intelligent people with something to share.
I am also thankful that I am learning new things all the time. Running my own company strips away the limitations that other people feel going to work every day at a job they don't enjoy. I am also thankful that this company has allowed me to spread my wings and dabble into other areas that might not seem connected, but are just the same.
And, apologies to any vegetarians out there, today is the second day in a row that I get to enjoy a turkey dinner.
So come back next week for more business talk but in the meantime, enjoy the day.
